Occoneechee Council Troop 314

Monday April 25, 2007



The followings are in attendance: Sheri Colquitt, Paul Casadonte, Brian Fulcher, Michael LeBlanc, Robin Thomas, Pon Phongsavath, Kaye Poole, Jean Stephano, Skip Ross, Rachelle Strachar and Winston Pierce.



  1. Occoneechee Council 2007 Friends of Scouting Campaign:


Mr. Dallas Brickhouse informed parents and Committee about Occoneechee Council annual Friends of Scouting Campaign. The gifts and donations support the council in serving more than 20,000 youth in partnership with community organizations and business in Central North Carolina. There is a list of company of participating companies who would match a gift their employees give.


  1. Membership Coordinators:


There is a need for a membership person to help answer questions that parents and scouts may have. Skip Ross and Jean Staphano agreed to hold the positions. Therefore, we have two Membership co-responsible persons. Parents are reminded that the Troop Handbook can be accessed online and that each scout and parents are to read the handbook and have the required page signed and turned it in to Kaye Poole.


  1. Budget:


Robin went over the budget. The past 2 years budgets were compared. The Committee saw the need to increase the fund for Eagle ceremony expenses as we expect to have an increase number of potential Eagle Scout graduates this year. The Committee voted in favor to increase the budget to $400.


  1. Miscellaneous:


Kaye Poole reminds everyone of the next payment of $50 due on Monday April 30th for the Summer Camp fees. An email will be sent out as a reminder. Two weeks after this payment, the total Summer Camp cost balance is due. She also reminds parents to keep purchasing groceries cards and recharging Kroger cards as for each $100 purchased, $5 will be credited towards a scout’s account to be used towards the annual membership or Summer Camp fees.


The meeting began at 7:30pm and adjourned 8:20pm.
