This year the troop is going to Camp Durant [Directions]. Summer camp is June 22 - 28, 2003.
The camp is located in Moore County, near Carthage, NC and is approximately 78 miles from St Raphaels.

Merit Badges
Scouts will be making their merit badge selections soon. Guidance is available at merit badge "dot" com. The first page is a complete list of all merit badges currently available, with the Eagle required listed in bold letters. After choosing your merit badge, it takes you to a page that lists the complete requirements for that badge, and at the bottom gives you topical links that would be of interest and relative to that badge, as well as a listing of other similar badges and then a link of merit badge helpers such as worksheets, tips, etc.

There is also a guide available. This 24 page booklet contains complete information about Camp Durant including programs, schedules, and application for working at the camp.
b Payments
A $50.00 deposit per person attending camp is due by March 31, 2003 and the second $50.00 payment is due April 28, 2003. The third (and final) payment of $65.00 is due by May 19.
Mandatory Parents Meeting
A meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 16 in order to complete all the necessary paperwork. All attending camp are required to have a completed physical form signed by your doctor. Forms are available in the Forms section of this site. |

Lightning Safety Awareness Week: June 22-28, 2003
Each year, about 400 children and adults in the U.S. are struck by lightning while
working outside, at sports events, on the beach, mountain climbing, mowing the
lawn or during other outdoor activities. Learn how to protect yourself by celebrating the nations second annual National Lightning Safety Awareness Week. Monday - Friday will cover the following topics: Overview, Science, Outdoors, Indoors, and Medical.
