Camp Durant is a Nationally Accredited Camp by the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Regionally trained appraisers inspect the camp annually. Key staff members are trained through the BSA National Camp School and all staff members are trained in CPR and basic first aid. The Occoneechee Council, in collaboration with the community, operates to serve the youth of central North Carolina by proving an environment where leadership opportunities, life-long skills, strong values, and morals are the outcomes for future generations.
